2. Please tell me more about the options to give and support students?

Donors who are committed to ensuring access and expanding equal opportunity in       higher education may choose to contribute to The Imagine Fund Signature       Scholarships or may establish their own endowed scholarship with the organization.

  • The Imagine Fund Signature Scholarships: Tuition awards to historically underserved students attending colleges and universities in Michigan.  Donors may make a gift of any size.

  • Private donor funded scholarships: Scholarships established by donors, managed and disbursed by IFund, and targeted to populations, communities or universities in or outside Michigan, reflective of donor objectives and aligned with IFund mission.

3. What is the minimum amount for a named scholarship?

  • $5,000 for a non-endowed named scholarship which can be paid over two years.
  • $30,000 for an endowed named scholarship which can be paid over multiple     years.

4. What is the difference between a named endowed and non-endowed scholarship?

A non endowed scholarship is created with the intent that 100% of the dollars donated may be allocated to students on an annual basis. Once the funds are awarded to students, the scholarship no longer exists unless a new donation is made to fund it.

A named endowed scholarship annually allocates a percentage of the principal amount donated. The original gift and any additional gifts to the endowed fund are invested for growth with the intent that the scholarship will be funded into perpetuity.  A benefit of a permanent fund is that it is a perpetual gift with the ability to make an impact on the lives of many students over time.

5. Will I know who receives my scholarship?

Absolutely! The Imagine Fund will communicate to donors who has received the scholarship along with a brief biography of the recipient.

6. Can you have someone contact me to provide more information?
