Section C. FAQ The Application Process

For Students

1. Will hand-written applications be accepted?

No. The online application tool must be used to submit your scholarship application.

2. Please remind me again what's on the "applicant checklist."

The online application must be completed and signed in order for you to be considered. You must also include your most recent grade report, financial award letter and two letters of recommendation -- for which you are asked to provide The Imagine Fund with the name and e-mail address (or other contact information) for these two individuals.

3. Do I need to submit the recommendation letters with my online application?

No. You are required to submit contact information for two recommenders on the online scholarship application. We will email those two individuals requesting letters of recommendations on your behalf. The recommenders are expected to submit the letters electronically by or on the due date of April 30, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. or the student application will be considered incomplete, and therefore ineligible for consideration. You should inform the two individuals listed as recommenders that they will be hearing from us.

4. Are official transcripts required?

All applicants are required to submit a copy of their latest grade report via the online application. Each finalist will be required to provide an official transcript, upon request.

5. Should I submit a resume with my application?

No. Only information and documents requested in the online application should be submitted unless you are specifically asked, otherwise.

6. What happens if I forget to include something with my application, i.e., my grade report?

The system will not allow you to complete or finalize your application without submitting all of the required documentation. Thus, an error message will appear.

7. What do I do if I have trouble logging-in?

Visit and contact www.scholarselect.com for assistance.

8. How will I know if my application was received?

We will be able to track your online scholarship application process and view whether or not you have completed the application. You will be able to save and log off without completing the application and return and complete it at a later time. You will receive a message confirming completion of the application.

9. Who should I ask to write my two letters of recommendation?

At least one of these two individuals must be a college/university faculty member or administrator. Regardless of whom you ask they should both be able to speak to your potential for success as a college graduate, your character and motivation in life.

10. How do I know my two letters of recommendation were received?

The student will be able to log-in at www.scholarselect.com to view their online scholarship application and to check the status of pending requests.

11. What is the deadline for all submissions?

The Imagine Fund must receive all application materials by or on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

12. How do I learn if I’m a scholarship recipient?

All applicants will hear from The Imagine Fund either by e-mail or letter, by early June 2010.

13. Who can I contact if I have additional scholarship questions or need assistance filling out the application?
